Yes, based on the label's "renewal" notes. Also, I have not heard of Channel Master as a supplier of new CRTs, but they were a known source of rebuilt tubes. The date is definitely 1980 or newer (but it does look like a zero to me; less likely to be a 6 or 9).
Very nice to get a set that fires right up!

At one time, I've read, Channel Master had the most modern CRT manufacturing plant in the USA. There were Channel Master brand TV sets, too, but I've never seen one. I'm sure they use a clone chassis or some such but I'm gonna guess they would have used the all-new C-M crt's?

Beautiful set, it looks mint!
I have a NOS Channel Master 21" sitting in my closet, it's also dated 1980 if I recall correctly, could even be newer but definitely 80 or later. I've never fired it up, hopefully the shadow mask is good after shipping it, I managed to break the safety glass so that has to be removed. |

I have a NOS 21" CM B/W CRT out in the shop, so I know they produced new CRTs as well as rebuilding used ones.

Channel Master CRTs, didn't produce quite as sharp of a picture as some of the other brands, however their crts seemed to last forever, as apparently the design of the electron guns were such that the beam current was more limited. Just hope the flyback doesn't smoke out, as that was a problem with a lot of those RCAs. Keep the cathode current as low as possible on the 6JE6/6LQ6 so that fly doesn't overheat. (ps, Yes, several of those wax coated flybacks even caught fire).

I did see a CM set.
Early 70's table model tube set possibly made by Toshiba and looked alot like the Sears non-Wells-Gardner Medalist. I also had a CM 21FJP22 in my CTC16XL that lost its red. One blast from the Heathkit Rejuvenator and it was back, lasted and looked super! Then the neck just broke off (not due to HV too high), a mystery to this day. |

My CTC-15 had a C-M tube. It worked when I found it back in the early 90s but had cataracts and a vertical issue, both way beyond me at the time. It sat unused until I joined VK and learned how to fix cataracts. Before tackling it I checked the crt and found that, while in storage, it had gone to air. No physical signs, nothing looked broken, but the filaments barely glowed and all 3 burnt out while I watched.
