Rare they are not. It was a popular style in the 50's and was SC best seller. Because of the modern oriental style, people tended to keep them long after the innards stopped working as opposed to curbing them like 60's and 70's consoles.

The green ones , the white ones, and Avodire(blond) ones, are rare though, especially the green. these were hand painted chinioserie and no two are alike...It would cost a fortune to produce them like that today.

It is inspired by an earlier 1920's radio design that were the top of line that helped SC gain a Cadillac status in radio.

The one drawback is the carved panels are all identical, and as consoles they were generally behemoths. It would have been nice for them to switch up the panel designs for each year of production and offer some dragon panels like the early radio.
