Oh, his BIN prices are more than fair--about 15 or 20 dollars more....

That blonde is nice. as a matter of fact, I have its twin - one of the very few rect. sets in my collection. the price at the time was right - FREE! Worked great after a recap - even original crt. That RCA tuner is a bear to open up for cleaning.

Something else this seller has for sale caught my attention. Check this out...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Koronette-Tube-P...temZ5831632916

If I read this correctly a phono graph and radio and above an electic fireplace???
Can't be...??? Suppose if the fire were on the tubes should warm up pretty quick, ...let's see ... caps could dry out pretty quick too, ...Ha ...it maybe even warp a few records on the platter!

...in a bizarre sort of way this could be an early engineering example of 'toast' for tube radios. Of course, the modern version of 'toast', as I've learned from my son, is a software program that exercises a CPU, generally causing thermal distress to the processor, all the while the limits of processor speed are determined!

No, must just be a simulated fireplace, probably with a light bulb and a rotating film drum or something like that. Having an electric heater above those electronics would surely lead to early failure. (And probably an early grave for the set itself).

Those fireplace radios show up from time to time. I had a fake fireplace (without a radio!) and it had real wood behind which was a motorized wheel with what amounted to Christmas tree garland, plus a light bulb. Looked kinda realistic if you weren't too sharp a fellow!

Now THIS is a fake fireplace! Complete with fake bricks painted on cardboard, cardboard flames, 7 watt lightbulb, and spinning wheel to give that "real flame" look!

Radio not included.

Damn... you'd think someone could have passed a comb thru my hair before taking that picture!

These sets look like some of the ones I run into in sheds and barns here in N.E. Arkansas. Common 50's stuff, however, the blonde Admiral definately has potential. I'm way too far away to pick something like that up, though.
